Purpose
Toric IOL's provide good uncorrected vision for patients We have noted however that when correcting lower astigmatism refractive outcome can be unreliable. We want to ascertain why this happens and at what can be done to make correction more accurate.

Methods.
We looked at our past refractive outcomes from Alcon T3 and T4 IOLs. A prospective group with similar low level astigmatism was studied. In this group we considered Orbscan astigmatism, IOLmaster astigmatism and past spectacle corrected astigmatism before implanting toric IOLs.

Results and Conclusions
Clearly demonstrated astigmatism on all measurements leads to accurate post operative refractive outcome. Perhaps a lower power astigmatism correction would be useful.
